According to the State Statistical Office data, the number of marriages in 2019, compared to the previous year, increased by 2.4% and it amounted to 13 814.
Most marriages, 1 747 or 12.6% were registered in August and the fewest in February 809 or 5.9%.
By marriage order, most were first marriages, with participation of 93.3% for women and 92.1% for men.
Men entered more often into second marriage 7.4% and into third marriage 0.6% of the total number of marriages. In 2019, the highest number of marriages by age of bride, 4 563 or (33.0 %) was registered in the age group 25-29, while by age of groom 5 159 or 37.3% in the same age group 25-29 years.
The average age at first marriage is 26.9 years for bride and 29.7 for groom.
The number of divorces in 2019 increased by 22.8 % compared to 2018 and it amounted to 1 990 divorces.
There were fewest of divorces in August 43 or 2.2% and most 244 or 12.3% in November.
According to the duration of marriage, most divorces, ie. 430 or 21.6%, occurred from 5 to 9 years after marriage.
