Number of livestock
Sources of data
The data on the number of livestock (cattle, pigs, sheep and goats), poultry and beehives are taken from the Annual Report on the Number of Livestock in Business Entities (Agricultural Enterprises and Cooperatives), while the Survey on the Number of Livestock gathers the data on individual agricultural holdings, with situation as on December 31.
Scope
Reporting units for the number of livestock in business entities are those which, according to the National Classification of Activities (NKD), are registered in section A, division 01, groups 01.4 and 01.5, while for the individual agricultural holdings the reporting units are a sample from the Livestock Survey. The selection of individual agricultural holdings (the sample) for the survey is prepared from the Statistical Register of Agricultural Holdings, comprising 562 statistical districts, or 5000 individual agricultural holdings, spread over the whole territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
