Consumer opinion survey, January 2011

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the value of the consumer confidence indicator in January 2011 decreased by 3.22 percentage points compared to the value of December 2010.

The decrease is due to the unfavourable expectations for the general economic situation of the country, the expectations for the probability of savings for the next 12 months, as well as the assessment of unemployment.

The expectations for the probability of savings over the next 12 months were more unfavourable in January 2011 compared to December 2010.

In January 2011, the expectations for the financial situation of the households for the next 12 months were slightly more satisfactory compared to their expectations in December 2010, but less satisfactory compared to their expectations in January 2010.

In January 2011, the households assessed that the economic situation in the country over the next 12 months will be more unsatisfactory compared to their assessment in December 2010, as well as the unemployment over the next 12 months.
