In 2009, 119 persons have gained the title "Doctor of Science"

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in 2009, 119 persons have gained the title " Doctor of Science", which is an increase of 36.8% compared with 2008.

30.3% of doctorate holders have gained their doctorate in the field of social sciences, 23.5% in medical sciences, 18.5% in the field of humanities, while the rest have obtained their doctorate in the fields of natural sciences and mathematics, technical-technological and biotechnical sciences.

In the total number of Doctors of Science, the participation of females that have obtained a doctorate during 2009 was 64 candidates or 53.8%.

Of the total number of persons that have gained the title Doctor of Science, the majority (73.9%) work in educational activity.
