According to the data of the State Statistical Office, 201 persons have gained the title "Doctor of Science" in 2021, which is an increase of 15.5% compared with 2020.
The largest part of doctorate holders, 23.4%, have gained their doctorate in the field of health and welfare, followed by 17.4% in social sciences, journalism and information, 15.9% in the field of business, administration and law, 11.4% in arts and humanities, while the rest of the fields were less represented.
The participation of females that have obtained a doctorate during 2021 was 115, or 57.2% of the total number of doctorates in 2021.
Of the total number of persons that have gained the title Doctor of Science, the highest proportion, 30.8%, work in educational activity.
