Doctors of science, 2011

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in 2011, 197 persons have gained the title "Doctor of Science", which is an increase of 25.5% compared with 2010.


The majority of doctorate holders, 53.8%, have gained their doctorate in the field of social sciences, followed by 15.2% in the field of medical sciences, 11.7% in humanities, while the rest have obtained their doctorate in the field of natural sciences and mathematics, technical-technological sciences and biotechnical sciences.


In the total number of Doctors of Science, the participation of females that have obtained a doctorate during 2011 was 104 candidates or 52.8%.


Of the total number of persons that have gained the title Doctor of Science, the majority, 48.7%, work in educational activity.
