According to the data of the State Statistical Office obtained on the basis of received reports, there were 59 359 enrolled students in the Republic of Macedonia in the academic year 2014/2015, an increase of 2.8% compared to the academic year 2013/2014.
The number of enrolled female students was 32 175 or 54.2%.
The majority of students, 87.3%, were enrolled in public tertiary institutions, while 12.2% were enrolled in private tertiary institutions.
In the academic year 2014/2015, there were 18 942 students enrolled in the first year of studies, which is 31.9% of the total (students that are enrolled in the first year for the second time, third time or more are also covered here).
