The Retail Price Index in February 2010, compared with January 2010, increased by 0.3%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.4%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in February 2010, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.3, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.4.

The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.4% is a result of the higher indices of vegetable by 6.4%, fruit by 2.3%, fish by 2.0%, dairy products by 0.6%, milk and sour milk by 0.5%, processed fruit by 0.3%, processed meat and confectionery products by 0.2%.

In February, there was also an increase of the indices of bicycles by 2.1%, naphtha and gas for households by 1.5%, solid fuels by 1.2%, means of education and oil derivatives by 1.1%, household utensils by 0.9%, services for personal health care and hygiene by 0.7%, footwear by 0.5%, cosmetic products by 0.4%, personal care articles by 0.3%, furnishing, medicines and health services by 0.2%.

A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in February 2010, in comparison with the previous month, is registered in processed vegetable, fats and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.

In February, there was also a decrease of the indices of education services by 3.1% and clothing by 0.6%.

The Retail Price Index in February 2010, compared with February 2009, registered an increase by 1.9%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.6%.

The value of the consumer basket for food and beverages for a four-member household in February 2010, calculated on the basis of retail prices, was 12 285 denars, and in comparison with the previous month it is higher by 1.1%.
