The Retail Price Index in March 2010, compared with February 2010, increased by
0.4%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.5%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in March 2010, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.4, while the
Consumer Price Index was 100.5.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.5% is a result of the higher indices of fruit by 7.7%, vegetable by 7.6%, other food products by
1.1%, fish and eggs by 0.5%, processed fruit by 0.4%, and milk and sour milk by 0.2%
.In March, there was also an increase of the indices of oil derivatives by 3.2%, means of education by 1.2%, education services by 0.3%, spare
parts of transport vehicles by 0.2% and vehicles maintenance by 0.1%. A small increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.1% was registered
in the groups: Clothing and footwear and Housing. A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in March 2010, in comparison with the previous
month, was registered in processed meat by 0.9%, cereal products by 0.8%, fats by 0.6%, processed vegetable and processed fish by 0.3%,
and meat by 0.1%.
In March, there was also a decrease of the indices of Miscellaneous services n.e.c by 8.3% and postal services by 1.5%.The indices of the
groups: Tobacco and beverages, Hygiene and health and Restaurants and hotels remained at the same level as in the previous month.
The Retail Price Index in March 2010, compared with March 2009, registered an increase by 2.3%, while the Consumer Price Index increased
by 0.7%.
The value of the consumer basket for food and beverages for a four-member household in March 2010, calculated on the basis of retail prices,
was 12 336 denars, and in comparison with the previous month it is higher by 0.4%.
