Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index, September 2010

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in September 2010, in comparison with the previous month,
was 100.0, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.1.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.1% is a result of the higher indices of fats by 11.1%, confectionery by 1.7%, eggs
by 1.6%, cereal products by 0.8%, meat by 0.6%, fresh and sour milk and dairy products by 0.5%, processed vegetable by 0.2%
and other products by 1.1%.
In September, there was also an increase of the indices of dwelling services by 2.9%, health care and hygiene by 1.8%,
Miscellaneous services n.e.c. by 0.5% and means of education by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in September 2010, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fruit by
2.1%, processed meat by 0.7% and processed fruit by 0.2%.
In September there was also a decrease of the indices of education services by 6.7% and postal and telecommunication services
by 1.8%.
The indices of the groups: Tobacco and beverages, Clothing and footwear and Restaurants and hotels remained at the same level
as in the previous month.
The Retail Price Index, in September 2010, compared with September 2009, registered an increase by 2.5%, while the Consumer
Price Index increased by 2.0%.
The value of the consumer basket for food and beverages for a four-member household in September 2010, calculated on the
basis of retail prices, was 12 037 denars, and in comparison with the previous month is higher by 1.2%.
