Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index, March 2011

According to the State Statistical Offce data, the Retail Price Index in March 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was
101.3, while the Consumer Price Index was 101.7.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 1.7% is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 12.7%, cereal products by
6.6%, fruit by 5.1%, processed fruit by 1.7%, fresh and sour milk by 1.6%, other food products by 1.3%, dairy products by 1.0%,
non-alcoholic beverages by 0.8%, eggs by 0.7%, fsh by 0.6%, processed fsh by 0.5% and meat by 0.3%.
In March, there was also an increase of the indices of electricity by 5.4%, oil derivatives and liquid fuels and gas by 3.8%, spare
parts of transport vehicles by 2.6%, food in restaurants and hotels by 1.5%, medicines and household utensils by 0.9%, clothing by
0.7%, services for personal health care and hygiene and beverages in restaurants and hotels by 0.6% and Miscellaneous goods
and services n.e.c by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in March 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fats by 0.5%,
processed meat by 0.3% and alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In March, there was also a decrease of the indices of thermal bath services by 5.6%, passenger transport by 3.5%, furniture,
means of education and package holidays by 0.4% and footwear by 0.3%.
The Retail Price Index in March 2011, compared with March 2010, registered an increase by 4.7%, while the Consumer Price
Index increased by 5.2%..
