Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index,
April 2011

According to the State Statistical Offce data, the Retail Price Index in April 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was
100.7, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.3.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.3% is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 5.2%, fsh by 0.9%, processed
fruit by 0.6%, cereal products, processed fsh and dairy products by 0.5%, meat and eggs by 0.4%, fresh and sour milk and
alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In April, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by 2.9%, household utensils by 1.4%, education services
and miscellaneous goods and services n.e.c by 1.3%, services for maintenance of the dwelling by 1.1%, personal care articles by
0.6%, materials for maintenance of the dwelling by 0.4%, vehicles maintenance by 0.3%, clothing and furniture by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in April 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fats by 2.2%,
non-alcoholic beverages by 1.7%, fruit by 0.6% and processed meat by 0.4%.
In April, there was also a decrease of the indices of household appliances and transport equipment by 0.6%, oil derivatives by
0.4%, footwear and postal services by 0.2%.
The Retail Price Index in April 2011, compared with April 2010, registered an increase by 4.6%, while the Consumer Price Index
increased by 4.8%.
