Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index,
May 2011

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in May 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was 99.9,
while the Consumer Price Index was 99.8.
The decrease in the Consumer Price Index by 0.2% is a result of the lower indices of vegetables by 4.6%, fats by 1.4%, other food
products by 0.8% and dairy products by 0.5%.
In May, there was also a decrease of the indices of accommodation services by 3.2%, services for routine household maintenance
by 2.3%, oil derivatives by 2.0%, education services by 1.1%, cosmetic products by 0.9%, means of education by 0.7%, services
for footwear by 0.5%, materials for maintenance of the dwelling by 0.4% and clothing by 0.3%.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in May 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fruit by 6.4%,
processed fish by 1.2%, fish by 0.9%, cereal products and processed fruit by 0.4% and fresh and sour milk by 0.2%.
In May, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by 2.8%, footwear by 1.3%, household utensils and
personal care articles by 0.9%, medicines by 0.5%, food in restaurants and hotels and package holidays by 0.2%.
The Retail Price Index in May 2011, compared with May 2010, registered an increase by 4.7%, while the Consumer Price Index
increased by 5.2%.
