Retail Price Index and Consumer Price Index, September 2012

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in September 2012, in comparison with the previous month, was 101.1, while the Consumer Price Index was 101.4. The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 1.4% is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 11.1%, eggs by 10.8%, fats by 10.4%, processed vegetables by 0.8%, meat and processed fish by 2.7%, fish by 0.8%, processed milk products by 0.6%, cereal products and fresh and sour milk by 0.4%. In September, there was also an increase of the indices of services for education by 5.2%, liquid fuels and gas by 4.8%, oil derivatives by 4.3%, transport vehicles by 2.8%, footwear by 2.2%, medicines by 0.5%, means of education by 0.4%, personal care articles by 0.3%, clothes, spare parts for transport vehicles and food in restaurants and hotels by 0.2%. A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in September 2012, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fruit by 2.1% and processed meat by 0.5%. In September, there was also a decrease of the indices of package holidays by 6.5% and passenger transport by air by 2.3%. The Retail Price Index in September 2012, compared with September 2011, registered an increase by 4.7%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 5.3%.
