According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in January 2014, in comparison with the previous month,
was 99.9, while the Retail Price Index was 100.2.
The decrease in the Consumer Price Index by 0.1% in January 2014, in comparison with the previous month, is a result of the
lower indices of eggs by 2.5%, chocolate products by 1.3%, fruit by 1.2%, bread and cereals by 0.7%, fish and sugar by 0.5%,
confectionery products by 0.4% and fresh milk by 0.2%.
In January, there was also a decrease of the indices of information processing equipment by 4.9%, glassware, tableware and
household utensils by 3.9%, footwear by 3.8%, accommodation services by 2.5%, household appliances by 0.9%, clothing by
0.6%, liquid fuels for households by 0.5% and spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 0.2%.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in January 2014, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in vegetables
by 1.4%, sour milk by 0.7%, preserved fish by 0.5%, dry fruit and other food products by 0.4% and processed milk by 0.3%.
In January, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 4.4%, medicines by 3.0%, beverages in
restaurants and hotels by 1.5%, outpatient services by 1.2%, food in restaurants and hotels by 0.8%, services for passenger
transport by road by 0.7%, gas for households by 0.6% and liquid fuels and lubricants by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in January 2014, in comparison with January 2013, registered an increase by 0.9%, while the Retail
Price Index increased by 0.8%.
