According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in January 2017, in comparison with the previous month,
was 100.6, while the Retail Price Index was 101.1.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in January 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh
or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 4.5%, fresh or chilled fruit by 3.4%, milk by 1.4%, dried fruit and nuts by 1.3%,
other food products by 0.8%, cheese and curd by 0.6%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.5%, non-alcoholic
beverages by 0.4%, bread and meat by 0.3%, eggs and alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In January 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of liquid fuels for households by 9.1%, other financial services n.e.c.
by 7.0%, information processing equipment by 6.4%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 6.2%,
accommodation services by 4.9%, gas for households and passenger transport by road by 3.9%, motor cars by 3.7%, gardens,
plants and flowers by 2.7%, carpets and other floor coverings by 1.5%, telephone and telefax services by 0.8%, tools and
equipment for house and garden by 0.7%, catering services by 0.6%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling by
0.5%, furniture by 0.4%, clothing and materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in January 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fish and
seafood by 1.3%, dried, salted or smoked meat by 0.6%, yoghurt, frozen fruit and frozen vegetables other than potatoes by
0.2%.
In January, there was also a decrease of the indices of hospital services by 5.7%, package holidays by 5.4%, telephone and
telefax equipment by 3.4%, footwear by 1.7%, medicines by 0.6% and services for personal care by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in January 2017, in comparison with January 2016, registered an increase by 0.6%, while the Retail
Price Index increased by 1.5%.
