According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in May 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was
100.7, while the Retail Price Index was 100.6.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in May 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled
fruit by 13.2%, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 12.6%, dried fruit and nuts by 2.5%, fish and seafood by 1.3%,
cigarettes by 1.2%, meat by 1.1%, other food products by 0.6%, dried, salted or smoked meat and frozen fruit by 0.5%, dried
vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables and alcoholic beverages by 0.3%.
In May 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 8.7%, hospital services by 1.2%, passenger
transport by road by 0.9%, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.8%, services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling,
recreational and cultural services by 0.3%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in May 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in yoghurt by 1.2%,
eggs by 1.1%, milk by 0.8%, edible offal, other meat preparations, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.7%, oils
and fats by 0.3%, cheese and curd by 0.2%.
In May, there was also a decrease of the indices of gas for households by 4.9%, gardens, plants and flowers by 2.0%, liquid fuels
for households by 1.8%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport
equipment by 1.1%, small electric household appliances by 0.5%, package holidays, accommodation services and articles for
personal hygiene and wellness by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in May 2017, in comparison with May 2016, registered an increase by 1.2%, while the Retail Price
Index increased by 2.7%.
