Consumer Price Index by COICOP classification and Retail Price Index,

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in July 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was 99.4, while the Retail Price Index was 100.0. The decrease in the Consumer Price Index by 0.6% in July 2017, in comparison with the previous month, is a result of the lower indices of fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 10.6%, eggs by 1.7%, milk by 1.2%, flours and other cereals and sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 1.1%, edible offal by 0.8% and other bakery products by 0.5%. In July, there was also a decrease of the indices of liquid fuels for households by 6.4%, motor cars, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 4.2%, gas for households by 4.1%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling by 3.0%, hospital services by 2.9%, footwear by 1.1%, gardens, plants and flowers by 0.7%, solid fuels for households by 0.4%, small electric appliances and equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture by 0.3%, clothing materials, electricity for households, telephone and telefax equipment and telephone and telefax services by 0.2%. An increase in the Consumer Price Index in July 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 2.6%, dried fruit and nuts by 2.5%, other food products by 0.8%, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.7%, rice, other meat products, fish and seafood and frozen vegetables other than potatoes by 0.5%. In July 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 13.2%, information processing equipment by 5.2%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 5.0%, accommodation services by 4.8%, package holidays by 2.2%, bicycles by 0.3% and household textiles by 0.2%. The Consumer Price Index in July 2017, in comparison with July 2016, registered an increase by 1.2%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 2.9%.
