According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in August 2017, in comparison with the previous month,
was 100.4, while the Retail Price Index was 100.9.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in August 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or
chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 5.3%, frozen fruit by 1.6%, dried, salted or smoked meat by 1.5%, meat by 0.9%, edible
offal by 0.8%, other meat preparations by 0.6%, cheese and curd, oils and fats, dried fruit and nuts by 0.5%, milk by 0.4%, fish
and seafood by 0.2%.
In August 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 21.7%, hospital services by 5.7%,
bicycles by 4.9%, gas for households by 3.8%, liquid fuels for households, cleaning and maintenance products for households
by 2.7%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, recreational and sporting services by 1.7%, gardens,
plants and flowers by 1.5%, articles for personal hygiene and wellness by 1.1%, personal care services by 0.9%, major electric
appliances for households by 0.8%, solid fuels for households, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 0.5%, spare parts
and accessories for personal transport equipment, pets and related products by 0.3%, clothing, domestic services and household
services by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in August 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled
fruit by 2.5%, rice by 1.4%, flours and other cereals and eggs by 1.2%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables
by 0.9%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionary by 0.7% and other food products n.e.c by 0.6%.
In August, there was also a decrease of the indices of heat energy for households by 2.5%, footwear by 2.2%, information
processing equipment by 0.9%, materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling, household furniture, games, toys and
hobbies by 0.6%, dental services by 0.4%, household textiles and repair of household appliances by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in August 2017, in comparison with August 2016, registered an increase by 1.9%, while the Retail Price
Index increased by 4.1%.
