The Consumer Price Index, by Coicop classification, in April 2010 in comparison with March 2010, increased by 0.6%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in April 2010, in comparison with March 2010, was 100.6, while in comparison with April 2009 it was 101.4.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in April 2010, compared with March 2010, an increase has been registered in the groups: Transport by 1.6%, Recreation and culture by 1.3%, Food and non alcoholic beverages and Communication by 1.1%, Restaurants and hotels by 0.3% and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.2%.
A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Miscellaneous goods and services by 1.1%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.7%, Clothing and footwear and Health by 0.3% and Alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 0.2%.
The index of the group Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
