The Consumer Price Index, by Coicop classification, in August 2010 in comparison with July 2010, increased by 0.1%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in August 2010, in comparison with July 2010, was 100.1, while in comparison with August 2009, it was 101.9.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in August 2010, compared with July 2010, an increase has been registered in the groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.8%, Recreation and culture by 0.7% and Food and non alcoholic beverages by 0.1%.
A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.6%, Transport by 0.5% and Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2%.
The indices of the groups: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, Clothing and footwear, Health, Communication, Education and Restaurants and hotels remained at the same level as in the previous month.
