Consumer Price Index by COICOP and Retail Price Index, February 2018

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in February 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.2, while the Retail Price Index was 100.1.


An increase in the Consumer Price Index in February 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 5.3%, frozen seafood by 1.1%, meat by 0.9%, other meat products by 0.8%, fresh or chilled fish by 0.4%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.3%.


In February 2018, there was also an increase of the indices of hospital services by 3.8%, liquid fuels for households by 1.5%, repair of audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment by 1.4%, furniture and furnishing by 1.2%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 0.8%, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and vision by 0.6%, passenger transport by air, recording media by 0.4%, household textiles, small electric appliances, domestic services and household services, spare parts for personal transport equipment, other personal effects by 0.3%, footwear, cleaning and maintenance products of the dwelling and information processing equipment by 0.2%.


A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in February 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in frozen vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 0.9%, dried fruit and nuts by 0.7%, food products n.e.c by 0.6%, other bakery products, fresh or chilled vegetables other then potatoes and other tubers by 0.5%, other preserved or processed fish and seafood- based preparations, eggs by 0.4%, rice, milk and yoghurt by 0.2%.


In February, there was also a decrease of the indices of gas for households by 2.8%, gardens, plants and flowers by 1.6%, solid fuels by 1.1%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 0.9%, carpets and other floor coverings, paramedical services by 0.6%, clothing, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 0.5% and accommodation services by 0.3%.


The Consumer Price Index in February 2018, in comparison with February 2017, increased by 1.9%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 3.5%.
