According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index and Retail Price Index in April 2018, in comparison with the
previous month, were 100.3.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in April 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled
vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 3.6%, frozen fruit by 1.2%, other meat preparations by 0.9%, meat by 0.7%, food
products n.e.c by 0.6%, milk by 0.5%, dry fruit and nuts by 0.4%, edible offal and cigarettes by 0.3%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.2%.
In April 2018, there was also an increase of the indices of liquid fuels for households by 2.8%, hospital services by 2.6%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 2.1%, bicycles by 1.6%, recording media by 1.3%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments, recreational and cultural services by 1.0%, repair of household appliances by 0.9%, small electric appliances by 0.6%, household furniture by 0.4%, cleaning and maintenance products of the dwelling, passenger transport by air by 0.3%, footwear, materials for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling, tools and equipment for house and garden, other medical products, telephone and telefax equipment and telephone and telefax services, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in April 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in sugar, jam, honey,
chocolate and confectionery by 0.9%, flours and other cereals, fish and seafood by 0.4%, rice, other bakery products, cereals and eggs by 0.2%.
In April, there was also a decrease of the indices of package holidays by 7.5%, gardens, plants and flowers by 1.4%, books by 1.3%, motor cars by 1.1%, other personal effects by 0.4%, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 0.3%, information processing equipment and personal care by 0.2%. The Consumer Price Index in April 2018, in comparison with April 2017, increased by 1.4%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 3.0%.
