According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in May 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was 101.0, while the Retail Price index was 100.7.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in May 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled
vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 13.1%, cigarettes by 5.0%, fresh or chilled fruit by 2.3%, frozen fruit by 1.3%, food
products n.e.c by 0.7 %, meat by 0.6%, alcoholic beverages by 0.5%, cheese and curd by 0.4%, dried vegetables, other preserved or
processed vegetables by 0.3%, fish and seafood and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In May 2018, there was also an increase of the indices of package holidays by 12.1%, paramedical services by 7.2%, liquid fuels for
households by 7.0%, accommodation services by 5.9%, hospital services by 5.5%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport
equipment by 4.6%, recording media by 4.3%, information processing equipment by 2.9%, gas for households by 2.4%, footwear,
telephone and telefax equipment by 1.1%, carpets and other floor coverings by 0.7%, personal care by 0.5%, stationery and drawing
materials by 0.4%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in May 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in oils and fats by 1.1%, eggs by 0.9%, dry fruit and nuts by 0.6%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.4% and milk by 0.2%.
In May, there was also a decrease of the indices of passenger transport by air by 5.0%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 3.1%, gardens, plants and flowers by 2.6%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 1.4%, games, toys and hobbies by 1.3%, cleaning and maintenance products of the dwelling by 0.9%, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.6%, major household appliances, equipment for reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture by 0.3%.
The Consumer Price Index in May 2018, in comparison with May 2017, increased by 1.7%, while the Retail Price Index increased by
3.1%.
