According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index and the Retail Price Index in January 2020, in comparison with the previous month, were 100.1.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in January 2020, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 1.7%, fresh or chilled fruit by 1.0%, food products n.e.c. by 0.6%, milk, cheese and curd by 0.3%, bread and cereals, sugar, jam, honey chocolate and confectionery, beer by 0.2%.
In January 2020, there was also an increase of the indices of other financial services n.e.c. by 34.3%, electric appliances for personal care by 4.3%, bicycles by 3.0%, liquid fuels for household, package holidays by 1.9%, gas for household by 1.5%, telephone and telefax equipment by 1.4%, fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 0.9%, miscellaneous printed matter by 0.8%, motor cars by 0.7%, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 0.6%, small electric household appliances, gardens, plants and flowers, hairdressing salons and personal grooming establishments by 0.5%, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.4%, pets and related products, catering services, accommodation services by 0.3%, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, games, toys and hobbies by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in January 2020, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in meat by 0.8%, wine by 0.3% and spirits by 0.2%.
In January, there was also a decrease of the indices of passenger transport by air, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture by 2.5%, footwear by 2.2%, information processing equipment by 1.6%, recording media by 0.9%, furniture and furnishings by 0.6%, clothing by 0.4%, carpets and other floor coverings, other medical products by 0.3%, major household appliances, other services in respect of personal transport equipment, other personal effects by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index and the Retail Price Index in January 2020, in comparison with January 2019, increased by 0.6%.
