According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in March 2020, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.2, while the Retail Price Index was 99.8.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in March 2020, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 7.2%, cigarettes by 4.1%, oils and fats by 3.4%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.9%, eggs by 0.8%, meat, milk by 0.7%, bread and cereals, cheese and curd, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 0.4%, spirits, wine by
0.3% and food products n.e.c by 0.2%.
In March 2020, there was also an increase in the indices of other appliances, articles and products for personal care by 1.3%, games, toys and hobbies by 0.9%, materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling, motor cars by 0.8%, gardens, plants and flowers by 0.6%, small electric household appliances by 0.5%, furniture and furnishings, pharmaceutical products by 0.4%, major electric household appliances by 0.3%, other medical products, pets and related products by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in March 2020, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fish and seafood, dry fruit and nuts by 0.4%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.2%.
In March, there was also a decrease of the indices of liquid fuels for household by 10.2%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 7.8%, telephone and telefax equipment by 2.9%, gas for household by 2.8%, passenger transport by air by 1.8%, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 0.8%, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture by 0.6%, information processing equipment by 0.2%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, increased by 0.5%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 0.3%.
