Consumer Price Index, by COICOP classifcation, May 2011

According to the State Statistical Offce data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in May 2011, in comparison with April 2011, was 99.8, while in comparison with May 2010 it was 105.2.

Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in May 2011, compared with April 2011, a decrease of indices has been registered in the groups: Recreation and culture by 1.2%, Transport and Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.4%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.3%, Communication and Restaurants and hotels by 0.1%.

An increase of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups: Clothing and footwear, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house and Health by 0.3% and Alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 0.1%.

The indices of the groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
