Consumer Price Index, by COICOP classification,
April 2012
According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for
personal consumption, in April 2012, in comparison with March 2012, was 101.1, while in comparison with April 2011
it was 102.2.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in April 2012, compared with March 2012, an increase of indices has been
registered in the groups: Clothing and footwear by 2.3%, Transport by 1.9%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by
1.6%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 1.3%, Recreation and culture by 0.7%, Health by 0.4%, Housing, water,
electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.3%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house and
Restaurants and hotels by 0.2%.
A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the group Alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 0.1%.
The indices of the groups: Communication and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
