Consumer Price Index, by COICOP classification, January 2013

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for
personal consumption, in January 2013, in comparison with December 2012, was 100.3, while in comparison with
January 2012 it was 103.8.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in January 2013, compared with December 2012, an increase of indices
has been registered in the groups: Restaurants and hotels by 3.2%, Health by 0.8%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages
by 0.6%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 0.5%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the
house by 0.3% and Clothing and footwear by 0.1%.
A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups: Recreation and culture by 1.2%, Transport by
0.8%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Communication by 0.4%, and Miscellaneous goods and
services by 0.1%.
The index of the group Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
