Estimation of the managers of the business entities in the manufacturing industry about the business situation in December 2013

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the managers assessed that the business situation in December 2013 is less satisfactory than in the previous month, and more satisfactory compared to December 2012. The situation with the present volume of production orders is almost at the same level as it was in the previous month. The production volume of the business entities in December 2013 is less satisfactory compared to the previous month; the expectations for the production volume are favourable for the next three months, while the number of employees is expected to decrease. The stocks of raw materials and intermediate goods and the purchases of raw materials and intermediate goods in December 2013 are below and around the normal level. The stocks of finished products decreased compared to the previous month. The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in December 2013, compared to the previous month, decreased to 60.1% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in December 2013 were: insufficient foreign demand with 25.8%, insufficient domestic demand with 18.9%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 10.1% and financial problems with 9.6%.
