Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in August 2020

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in August 2020, standing at 12.9, is 0.6 percentage points higher compared to July 2020 and 8.5 percentage points lower compared to August 2019.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in August 2020 is more favourable compared to the previous month, as well as the expectations for the production volume for the next three months, and the stocks of finish goods are increased.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, but less satisfactory compared to August 2019. The number of employees is expected to increase.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in August 2020 increased to 67.0 % of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in August 2020 were: insufficient foreign demand with 20.5 %, uncertainty of the economic environment with 16.8 %, shortage of skilled labour with 17.7 %, and insufficient domestic demand with 11.7 %.
