Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in March 2021


The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in March 2021, standing at 14.5, is by 0.3 percentage points higher compared to February 2021 and by 0.5 percentage points lower compared to March 2020.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in March 2021 is more favourable compared to the previous month, as well as the expectations for the production volume for the next three months, while the stocks of finished goods are decreased.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to March 2020. The number of employees is expected to decrease.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in March 2021 increased to 71.7% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in March 2021 were: insufficient foreign demand with 21.4%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 15.9%, shortage of skilled labour with 14.9%, and insufficient domestic demand with 14.2%.
