Estimation of the managers of the business entities in the manufacturing industry about the business situation in May 2014

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the managers assessed the business situation in May 2014 as more satisfactory
than in the previous month, but less satisfactory compared to May 2013. The situation with the present volume of production
orders is less satisfactory compared to the previous month. The production volume of the business entities in May 2014 is less
satisfactory than in the previous month; the expectations for the production volume are favourable for the next three months,
but the expectations for the number of employees are unfavourable. The stocks of raw materials and intermediate goods and
the purchases of raw materials and intermediate goods in May 2014 are below and around the normal level. The stocks of
finished products increased compared to April 2014. The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in May 2014,
compared to the previous month, decreased to 61.1% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on
limiting the production volume in May 2014 were: insufficient foreign demand with 27.3%, insufficient domestic demand with
19.5%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 9.01% and competitive imports with 8.4%.
