Estimation of the managers of the business entities in the manufacturing industry about the business situation in August 2014

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the managers assessed the business situation in August 2014 as more
satisfactory than in the previous month, as well as compared to August 2013. The situation with the present volume of production
orders is more satisfactory compared to the previous month. The production volume of the business entities in August 2014 is at
the same level as in the previous month; the expectations for the production volume are unfavourable for the next three months,
while the expectations for the number of employees are more satisfactory. The stocks of raw materials and intermediate goods
and the purchases of raw materials and intermediate goods in August 2014 are below and around the normal level. The stocks
of finished products decreased compared to July 2014. The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in August
2014, compared to the previous month, increased to 61.8% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on
limiting the production volume in August 2014 were: insufficient foreign demand with 24.0%, insufficient domestic demand with
17.8%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 8.5% and financial problems with 8.4%.
