Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in January 2016

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in January 2016 is 0.4
percentage points higher than the previous month, and 8.2 percentage points higher compared to January 2015.


The situation with the current volume of production orders in January 2016 is less satisfactory compared to the previous month,
the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are that it will increase, while the stocks of finished
products have decreased.


The estimation of the economic situation is that it is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to
January 2015. The expectations for the number of employees are also more satisfactory compared to December 2015, as well
as compared to January 2015.


The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in January 2016 increased to 64.5% of normal utilization.


The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in January 2016 were: insufficient foreign demand
with 22.3%, insufficient domestic demand with 21.4%, shortage of skilled labour with 17.2% and uncertainty of the economic
environment with 7.9%.
