Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in May 2017

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in May 2017 is 0.4
percentage points lower than the previous month, and 2.1 percentage points higher compared to May 2016.


The situation with the current volume of production orders in May 2017 is less satisfactory compared to the previous month, the
expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also less satisfactory, while the stocks of finished goods
have decreased.


The estimation of the economic situation is less satisfactory compared to the previous month, but more satisfactory compared
to May 2016.


The number of employees is expected to remain almost the same.The average capacity utilization level of the business entities
in May 2017 decreased to 64.0% of normal utilization.


The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in May 2017 were: insufficient foreign demand
with 22.2%, insufficient domestic demand with 19.0%, shortage of skilled labour with 18.1% and uncertainty of the economic
environment with 11.2%
