Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in August 2017


The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in August 2017 is 0.4
percentage points higher than the previous month, and 1.9 percentage points higher compared to August 2016.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in August 2017 is more satisfactory compared to the previous month,
as well as the expectations for the production volume for the next three months. The stocks of finished goods have decreased
compared to July 2017.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, and as well as compared to
August 2016. The number of employees is expected to increase.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in August 2017 increased to 65.5% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in August 2017 were: insufficient foreign demand
with 21.0%, insufficient domestic demand with 18.6%, shortage of skilled labour with 18.3%, and uncertainty of the economic
environment with 12.1%.
