Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in January 2018

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in January 2018 is 0.1 percentage points lower than the previous month, and 1.6 percentage points higher compared to January 2017.
The situation with the current volume of production orders in January 2018 is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also more satisfactory, and the stocks of finished goods have increased compared to December 2017.
The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to January 2017. The number of employees is expected to increase.
The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in January 2018 increased to 66.5% of normal utilization.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in January 2018 were: shortage of skilled labour with 20.6%, insufficient foreign demand with 19.8%, insufficient domestic demand with 19.5%, and uncertainty of the economic environment with 11.0%.
