Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in March 2018


The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in March 2018 is the same as in February and is 19.1 percentage points, and 2.1 percentage points higher compared to March 2017.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in March 2018 is less satisfactory compared to the previous month, the
expectations for the production volume for the next three months is more favourable compared to the previous month. The stocks of
finished goods have decreased compared to Fabruary 2018.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to March 2018. The number of employees is expected to increase.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in March 2018 increased to 67.0% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in March 2018 were: shortage of skilled labour with
21.8%, insufficient foreign demand with 19.7%, insufficient domestic demand with 18.3% and uncertainty of the economic environment with 10.7%.
