Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in February 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in February 2019, standing at
20.5, is 0.4 percentage points higher compared to January 2019 and 1.4 percentage points higher compared to February 2018. The
situation with the current volume of production orders in February 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous month, the
expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also more favourable, while the stocks of finished goods have
increased compared to January 2019. The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month,
also compared to February 2018. The number of employees is expected to decrease. The average capacity utilization level of the
business entities in February 2019 increased to 68.8% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the
production volume were: shortage of skilled labour with 25.0%, insufficient foreign demand with 17.0%, insufficient domestic demand
with 15.2%, and uncertainty of the economic environment with 10.8%.
