Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in September 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in September 2019, standing at 21.7, is 0.3 percentage points higher compared to August 2019 and 1.1 percentage points higher compared to September 2018.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in September 2019 is more favourable compared to August 2019, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also more favourable compared to the previous month, while the stocks of finished goods have decreased compared to August 2019.

The estimation of the economic situation is less satisfactory compared to the previous month, but more favourable compared to September 2018. The number of employees is expected to decrease.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in September 2019 decreased to 69.4% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in September 2019 were: shortage of skilled labour with 22.1%, insufficient foreign demand with 18.9%, insufficient domestic demand with 13.7% and uncertainty of the economic environment with 13.3%.
