Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in February 2020

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in February 2020, standing at 22.7, is 0.1 percentage points higher compared to January 2020 and 2.2 percentage points higher compared to February 2019.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in February 2020 is more favourable compared to the previous month, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are less favourable, and the stocks of finish goods have increased slightly.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to February 2019. The number of employees is expected to decrease.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in February 2020 increased to 71.4% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in February 2020 were: shortage of skilled labour with 26.0%, insufficient foreign demand with 18.0%, insufficient domestic demand with 14.4%, and uncertainty of the economic environment with 12.7%.
