Estimation of the managers of the business entities from the construction sector about the business situation in the fourth quarter of 2013

According to the data from the State Statistical Office, the managers of the business entities engaged in construction assessed that the business situation in the fourth quarter of 2013 is more satisfactory compared to the previous one, and better compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The assessment of the financial situation of their business entities is that it is less satisfactory compared to the previous quarter, but more satisfactory compared to the fourth quarter of 2012.
The expectations for the number of employees for the next period are unfavourable, and the assessment of the present situation with orders is considered less satisfactory compared to the previous quarter. The quantity and quality of the business entities' mechanization and equipment are improving and they are above the normal level. The selling prices are expected to decrease in the next period.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the improvement of the present construction activity were: competition in the same sector with 15.0%, no demand with 14.2%, increased material expenditures with 13.7%, and increased financial expenditures (interests) with 12.3%.
