Business tendencies in construction, second quarter of 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in construction in the second quarter of 2019 is 0.2 percentage points higher compared to the first quarter of 2019, and for 0.7 percentage points higher compared to the second quarter of 2018.

The expectations for the total orders (contracts) are more favourable compared to the previous quarter. The number of employees is expected to increase.

The assessment of the economic situation in the second quarter of 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous one, as well as compared to the second quarter of 2018.

The current situation with orders (contracts) for construction work is more favourable but the financial situation is less favourable compared to the previous quarter.

The selling prices are expected to increase in the next period, while the quantity and quality of the business entities' machinery and equipment are above the normal level.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the improvement of the current construction activity were: no demand with 18.5 %, increased material expenditures with 17.9%, shortage of competent staff with 15.6% and competition in the same sector with 12.0%.
