Estimation of the managers of the business entities engaged in retail trade about their business situation in the first quarter of 2010

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the managers of the business entities assessed that the business situation of their business entities engaged in retail trade in the first quarter of 2010 is almost unchanged compared to the same quarter of 2009, as well as compared to the fourth one of 2009. Their financial situation in the first quarter of 2010 is less satisfactory than in the previous one. Their expectations for the business situation for the next period are more optimistic. The managers of the business entities assessed that their stocks have increased in the first quarter of 2010, compared to the fourth quarter of 2009. The assessment of the orders expected for the next period is more satisfactory, and the expectations for the number of employees are more optimistic, compared to the previous quarter.

The managers of the business entities assessed that the selling prices of the goods in the first quarter of 2010 increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2009. Their assessment of the expectation for the selling prices during the next 3 months is optimistic. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the first quarter of 2010 were: low demand with 43.6%, increased financial expenditures (interests) with 11.4% and increased competition with 10.8%.
