Business tendencies in retail trade, fourth quarter of 2016

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in retail trade in the fourth quarter of 2016 is 0.2
percentage points lower than the previous quarter, and 1.6 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2015.
The economic situation is more favourable in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the third quarter of 2016, as well as
compared to the same quarter of 2015. It is expected to be less favourable in the next two quarters. The quantities of the current
stocks have increased compared to the previous quarter.
The financial situation in the fourth quarter of 2016 is almost at the same level as in the third quarter of 2016. The expectations
for the orders for the next period are that they will increase, whereas the number of employees is expected to decrease.
The selling prices in the fourth quarter of 2016 have increased slightly compared to the previous quarter, and they are also
expected to increase in the next three months.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the fourth quarter of 2016
were: increased competition with 22.0%, low demand with 20.5%, and increased offer on the market with 19.0%.
