Business tendencies in retail trade, first quarter of 2017

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in retail trade in the first quarter of 2017 is 0.2
percentage points higher than the previous quarter, and 1.1 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2016.


The economic situation is less favourable in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the fourth quarter of 2016, but more
favourable compared to the same quarter of 2016. It is expected to be more favourable for the next two quarters. The quantities
of the current stocks have decreased compared to the previous quarter.


The financial situation in the first quarter of 2017 is more favourable compared to the fourth quarter of 2016. The expectations
for the orders for the next period are that they will decrease, whereas the number of employees is expected to increase.


The selling prices in the first quarter of 2017 have decreased compared to the previous quarter, and they are also expected to
decrease in the next three months.


The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the first quarter of 2017
were: low demand with 31.6%, increased offer on the market with 17.6% and increased competition with 12.5%.
