Business tendencies in retail trade, fourth quarter of 2018

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in retail trade in the fourth quarter of 2018 is 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, and 0.7 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2017.
The economic situation is more favourable in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the third quarter of 2018, as well as compared
to the same quarter of 2017. It is expected to be more favourable for the next two quarters. The quantity of the current stocks have
decreased compared to the previous quarter.
The financial situation in the fourth quarter of 2018 is more favourable compared to the third quarter of 2018. The expectations for the
orders for the next period are that they will increase and the number of employees is expected to increase as well.
The selling prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 have decreased compared to the previous quarter, and they are also expected to
decrease in the next three months.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the fourth quarter of 2018 were:
low demand with 19.6%, increased competition at the market with 18.6%, shortage of competent staff with 14.0% and increased offer
on the market with 13.0 %.
