Estimation of the managers of the business entities engaged in retail trade about their business situation in the frst quarter of 2011

According to the data of the State Statistical Offce, the managers of the business entities assessed that the business situation of their business entities engaged in retail trade in the frst quarter of 2011 is less satisfactory compared to the fourth quarter of 2010, and much more satisfactory compared to the frst one of 2010. Their fnancial situation in the frst quarter of 2011 is less satisfactory than in the previous one. Their expectations for the business situation for the next period are less optimistic. The managers of the business entities assessed that their stocks increased in the frst quarter of 2011, compared to the fourth quarter of 2010. The assessment of the orders expected for the next period is more satisfactory, but the expectations for the number of employees, compared to the previous quarter, are unfavourable.

The managers of the business entities assessed that the selling prices of the goods in the frst quarter of 2011 increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2010. Their assessment of the expectations for the selling prices during the next 3 months is that they will increase slightly. The factors that had the greatest infuence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the frst quarter of 2011 were: low demand with 39.3%, increased competition with 15.3%, and increased offer on the market with 11.5%.
