International trade volume, January - February 2014

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the export value of goods in the Republic of Macedonia in the
period January - February 2014 was 696 890 thousand US dollars, and the import value was 1 070 984 thousands US dollars. Import
coverage by export was 65.1%. The trade deficit in the period January - February 2014 was 374 093 thousand US dollars.


The trade exchange according to products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with
precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ferro-silicon, ferro-nickel, clothes and iron and steel
products (flat-rolled products). In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or
in powder form, petroleum oils, electricity and other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder
form.


In the period January-February 2014 the most important export partners were the EU-28 countries (80.8%) and the West Balkan
countries (12.2%), and the most important import partners were the EU-28 countries (64.9%) and the West Balkan countries
(10.0%). According to the total volume of international commodity trade, the most important trade partners of the Republic of
Macedonia are Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria (53.6% of the total international commodity trade).
